FInally!

Yes, believe it or not I am finally blogging again.

Obviously, a lot has happened since the last time I blogged.  So lets start at the beginning.

Ashleigh had her wax museum at the first of November and dressed up as Clara Barton.  She looked so cute in her costume and did a great job memorizing and telling her 10 facts.  She is back in dance and loving it.  She has been working hard and is excited about her team dances and trio.  She is dancing to "All that Jazz" from Annie and they have had a great time learning and practicing their dance.

Garrett has been having a great time at Junior High.  He sings with the audition choir at Willow Creek and had had 3 concerts so far this year.  Not to mention the Festivals he has already been to.  His latest interest has been skateboarding.  He has been having a great time at the new skate park in Eagle Mountain.  Or at least he was until he broke his arm.  Of course the cast didn't stop him from skating.  Oh, well at least he hasn't broken it again.  He has only been out of his cast for about 2 weeks but so far so good.

As for Jason and I as usual we just work, do our church stuff and chase kids.  Jason is still in the bishopric as the 2nd counselor.  I can't say that he loves it but he certainly loves the people he works with and we receive lots of blessings because of it.

Needless to say we are all really excited for Christmas.  We finally got snow here in Eagle Mountain, so it is finally looking like Christmas.  Now if we could just finish all we need to before Christmas gets here.

YEAH!!!!!!!!

Well, life has been pretty busy around our house. For the last couple of weeks Garrett has had 2 lacrosse games a week plus practice and Scouts. Ashleigh of course had dance, tumbling and piano. I can not wait to have a small break.......fortunately we have fall break this week. I realize that we just started school, but between school and the kids I am ready!
We were supposed to go to my moms for a visit but of course we have too many other things going on so I guess we will just kick back here at home. The weather is supposed to be nice so maybe we can fit a few fun activities in as well.

Back to School

Well, it is that time of year again. School has started and as always that brings lots of fun activities. As usual, I made the kids pose for a Back to school picture the first morning, before they got on the bus. Ashleigh thought it was great. Garrett did not. He is at the age where it is not so cool to have back to school pictures taken I guess.

Garrett is loving being an 8th grader. He says his favorite clas is either T.A. for Miss Stevens or Weights. Hmmmm.......mom is not sure those really count as classes. He thinks they are though, and is doing well in all of his other classes, so I guess that is alright. He starts lacrosse this week and is very excited about that.

Ash loves 5th grade, I think her favorite part so far is her teacher. She always tells me how "nice" Mrs Crockett is. She had a biographical timeline due last we and we had a lot of fun looking through all of her old pictures to decide which major events to use in her presentation. She tried out for dance team in the spring and moved up a class. She was excited about that and is thrilled to be starting classes again.

Mom is back to school as well. I'm not happy to be going back to work, but glad to be able to get back into a routine again. It is also nice to see all the people I work with and to see most of the kids.

Jason has been working on a big project at work. Hopefully after he is finished InfoTrax will be "PCI Compliant." I'm not really sure what that means but he has been working a lot so it must be important. It will be nice for him when he his finished....he has been a little stressed lately.

Well right now we spend almost every night at the ball park. Garrett is just finishing up the city Tournament and will then hopefull go to state. I love baseball and don't mind watching all the games. Ashleigh on the other hand would rather be at the playground. She does check in and watch for a few minutes but then she is off again. She makes new friends every night so I guess that is a good thing.

Garrett moved up to a new league this year and has played well considering most of the kids are twice his size. Most of the time he plays 2nd base and loves it. He does occasionally have to play in the outfield but he doesn't mind that either (unless he has to play right field). He struggled a little bit with his hitting at the first of the season, but is now hitting very well. He loves baseball and is always excited to go to his games.

Youth Conference

Jason and I just recently returned from Youth Conference. It was a lot of work and of course a lot of fun. We did a Book of Mormon Quest and were tribe leaders. We only had 1 kid from our ward in our tribe, but that turned out okay. I was a little worried about who would be in our tribe, but the kids we got were amazing. According to them, we were "the nice parents, because we let them do what ever they wanted." The truth was, they were always where they were supposed to be and never did anything to get in trouble. We Loved it!!!

The stake put on multiple reenactments from the Book of Mormon and they were really amazing. I don't know if the kids got anything from it, but I sure did. It really brought the Book of Mormon to life.

We ended the week with a reenactment of the second coming of Christ. We were woke up Friday morning at 4:00am to the sound of wind and thunder and our tents shaking. We then walked in the dark up into a meadow. They continued to play the sounds of the wind and thunder for about 30 minutes and then the actor playing Christ appeared in the trees. I couldn't believe how quiet 200+ kids could be, as the actor walked among them.
